| 2008 Dodge Avenger | |||
| From Dodgeboy.net | |||
| "The 2008 Dodge Avenger starts at $18,895, a substantial price drop from a comparably equipped Stratus. The mid-sized Avenger is rated at 32 mpg based on 2007 EPA standards, with the four-cylinder engine; it can be equipped with all wheel drive, a sport-tuned suspension, electronic stability and traction control, Chill Zone™, theft alarm, and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel; and has a high seating position. A standard feature is side-curtain and side seat-mounted air bags. Target customers are likely to consider the Camry, Accord, Fusion, and G6; the target age is 30-35.
The Avenger looks quite good in person - stronger and more muscular than in the photos, we believe, and also neater and cleaner inside and up front. The interior is a refinement of the current Dodge themes. Read our seven-day test drive results. The 2008 Dodge Avenger was available in U.S. dealerships from the first quarter of 2007 and in global volume markets, in both left-hand and right-hand drive, by mid-2007. Four models were offered in the United States: Dodge Avenger SE, Dodge Avenger SXT, Dodge Avenger R/T, and Dodge Avenger R/T AWD (late availability). According to stylist Ryan Nagode, part of the reason for the resemblance to the Dodge Charger is the desire to sell the Avenger in Europe; they wanted the Avenger to have clearly American styling when sold abroad. But, in the end, according to Ryan, “It’s all about getting rid of the boring sedan.” Muscular rear shoulders, large wheels and tires and a sleek rear spoiler embody the Dodge brand attributes of bold, powerful (except on Caliber and base minivans), and capable. Avenger’s long greenhouse is created by black appliqués on the B-pillars, which make this mid-size sedan look like it’s pouncing forward, even when it’s at a standstill." |
